In Eastern China, a 2-year-old toddler girl was left in the care of her grandmother for a few hours in the province of Jiangsu. But her grandmother, after the girl was put down for a nap, decided it would be okay to leave the toddler home alone while she went to get groceries.
Two-year-old YueYue woke up while her grandmother was still out and went searching for her grandmother throughout the apartment before she headed over to an open window. She was able to climb up and out the window, plunging 17 stories down. Fortunately, by God’s grace, heavy rains had recently been in the area and there were trees on the ground floor. YueYue’s fall was broken by the trees before she dropped to the soft, soggy ground below.
After the fall, YueYue stood up on her own and walked toward the building crying as a crowd gathered around her. Her grandmother came home soon afterward and was surprised to see her neighbors gathering around her granddaughter on the ground floor. When she realized what happened, she called YueYue’s parents and they rushed over to take her to the hospital. It was discovered her injuries were minor–a mild contusion on her liver and a small fracture to one of her ribs.
Social media posts in China are calling her little Supergirl and superhuman after her doctor in a TV report called YueYue’s incident a miracle. Others have posted strong criticism of how the grandmother left her unattended and how the parents should have installed child-proof bars on the windows.
In a nation where little girls are the main ones murdered in the womb and forced abortions are still common despite a supposed change in Communist policies on abortion, I believe the Lord is using this miracle to show the officially godless nation that he cares about little girls. Even in a culture that has rejected him and severely persecutes his people, perhaps God is sending the message that he will still intervene when he chooses to in order to show that his power surpasses any laws–natural or man-made. Including the law of gravity and the laws of staunch Communist God-haters.
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10
