Choosing US President may be a choice between 2 Freemasons

A White House photo circulating around the Internet for a while reveals what I’ve suspected but just recently found out. President Obama, like many US Presidents before him, is a Freemason. The photo shows him with various good luck talismans he often carries around with him. Among them is a Hindu god and a Freemason ring.

This really should be no surprise since U.S. Presidents have been elected in at least the modern and postmodern eras to move the world toward one world government and one world religion. And I don’t have any proof of this, but I suspect that Mitt Romney is probably also a Freemason. The founder of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith, was a Master Mason of the 33rd degree and Mormon leaders since him have all encouraged leaders in the Mormon Church as well as prominent male members of that church to join the Freemasons as part of their tradition.

Regardless of their religious affiliations, I find it interesting that they all end up pointing us toward what was predicted in the Bible. The rulers of this world may be powerful, but Jehovah is much more powerful and he will get his way when all has been said and done.

…your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 1 Corinthians 2:5-6

The occultic foundations of modern atheism

There are certain historical figures that atheists tend to rally around who they often quote to inspire and encourage themselves in their worldview. Today’s atheists are very proud to hail these deceased famous people as heroes and pioneers of the cultural heritage of  the atheism and free thought movements. A close look at the lives and beliefs of these historical figures reveals why atheism is based on hypocrisy that goes way beyond the hypocrisy they happily accuse Christians of.

In my previous post, I made the observation that some tactics atheists use to attack Christianity are the same tactics used by new agers, witches, and freemasons. There’s a reason for that. Atheists contend they do not believe in spirit life of any kind and that this physical world is all there is. But here’s some information on a few of their heroes:

Annie Besant (1847-1933): She once said, “No philosophy, no religion, has ever brought so glad a message to the world as this good news of Atheism.” Raised in a British Christian home, she married an English clergyman when she was 20 but became dissatisfied with Christianity and joined the atheistic National Secular Society to further the atheist cause. However, in the midst of promoting atheism, she dabbled in the dark arts of occultism and eventually concluded there was more for her than atheism could satisfy. So under the tutelage of Madam H.P. Blavatsky, Besant joined the occultic Theosophical Society, which was infamous for its seances, spirit channeling sessions, and psychic practices. She eventually became president of the organization. In the end the quote she stated above was not at all what she practiced, but atheists still love the quote and still love Annie Besant. (The Theosophical Society, wikipedia)

Aleister Crowley (1875-1947): He’s famous for saying, “One would go mad if one took the Bible seriously; but to take it seriously one must be already mad.” His mother and father were wealthy Christians in a denomination derived from the Plymouth Brethren. His father was a circuit preacher who ran a brewery and read the Bible every day to his wife and son. Aleister forsook his Christian heritage and joined organizations such as Freemasonry and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, an occultic secret society that had William Wynn Westcott as one of its founders. The Hermetic Order spent its time in astrology, tarot card reading, alchemy, astral travel (out of body trances), and homosexual activities.

He is considered one of the fathers of modern Wicca and the new age movement and was known for his ungodly practices. Among them were satanic rituals, human sacrifices, vampirism, bestiality, drug abuse, pedophilia, and magick. He established the mantra often used in Satanist and witchcraft circles, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.” One of his most well known disciples was Anton LaVey, author of the Satanic Bible. Yet the atheists just love Crowley. An atheist church in Texas even states they agree with the teachings of Crowley’s disciple, Anton LaVey.

Mark Twain (1835-1910): Twain has a whole plethora of quotes atheists love. One of them is “[The Bible is] a mass of fables and traditions, mere mythology.” Born and raised Samuel Clemens in Missouri, he became one of America’s most beloved authors and humorists. However, Twain was an occultist. He was an active Freemason who eventually became a Master Mason. One of his closest friends was H.S. Olcott, the founder of the Theosophical Society and a Royal Arch Freemason.

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900): The famous Irish playwright and poet lived up to his last name. One of his favorite quotes among atheists is, “When I think of all the harm the Bible has done, I despair of ever writing anything equal to it.” Among his famous works is The Picture of Dorian Gray about a young man who makes a deal with the devil, which could be said of the author’s life.

Although Wilde was married with two children, he thought it nothing to cheat on his wife with other men. Both he and his wife were members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, the same secret society Aleister Crowley became part of. He was known for participating in occult ceremonies and psychic readings with the Order. He was also an active Freemason, being a Master Mason. (Neil McKenna. The Secret Life of Oscar Wilde: An Intimate Biography ; wikipedia.com)

Conclusion

The ultimate reason atheists use the same tactics as new agers, witches, and Freemasons is because they are all cut from the same cloth. They are all servants and children of the devil. Atheists love to boast of how educated they are and how knowledgeable they are, so how could this information be a secret to them? Yet they hold these people in high regard and quote them to further their cause. Since that is the case, atheists are not as atheistic as they claim. They are essentially occultists in disguise who just see atheism as a weapon in their vast arsenal to try to bring down Christianity. But they’re playing for the losing team.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:10

Irony in the obelisk

Is God upset with what’s going on in Washington, DC? I believe he is. That’s why the earthquake hit the east coast, in my opinion. And now a symbol of America is closed because of damage caused by the earthquake that sent people fleeing from U.S. government buildings in DC yesterday.

I’m glad no one was hurt, but I find it amusing that the Washington Monument now has a crack in it and will stay closed until further notice. The Washington Monument is America’s most prominent Masonic symbol. In case you may not be aware, obelisks such as the Washington Monument are the Freemasons’ symbol of the male member. The ring at the bottom of the monument is symbolic of the female member. So the monument as a whole symbolizes the power that Freemasons believe is given spiritually to Masons via sexual intercourse, whether in or out of marriage.

The earthquake was God’s way of sending a message that his power dwarfs the power that any man thinks he has through ungodly policies he promotes, or through the monuments he builds in honor of humans, or through pagan rituals. The crack in the obelisk is another of God’s warning shots to the U.S. telling us that he has power to make things worse and shake us to our foundations if we don’t change our wicked ways as a nation. God is longsuffering and patient, but his patience has its limits and it can eventually run out as he has shown countless times in human history.

Will anything change in DC? Probably not. When you have leaders who are puffed up with pride and are stiffnecked, more often than not only a traumatic event can humble them. And a lot of times even a traumatic event won’t work.

A few unbelievable doctrines of the Mormon church

Mormonism, started by self-proclaimed prophet Joseph Smith in the early 1800s, is a religion shrouded in mystery because most of us don’t know what they teach.  However, with its prominence coming to the forefront because of some famous Mormons who have been constantly paraded before us in the media, I thought it would a good idea to highlight some things not often told to the general public about Mormonism (also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or LDS). The quotes I use are from well-known present and past leaders within the Mormon Church.

► Mormonism teaches that Jesus Christ & Lucifer were spirit brothers in competition for being Savior of the World and that Lucifer rebelled when he wasn’t chosen.

“The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning. …this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind.

“…Satan offered to come into the world as the Son of God and be the Redeemer. …With the rejection of his offer… Satan made open warfare against the Lord.” [Bruce McConkie (member of the First Council of the 70 & Quorum of the 12 Apostles of LDS), Mormon Doctrine, 1966, pp. 192-193]

■The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God [1 John 4:9], that Lucifer was an angel who rebelled in pride to take over God’s throne [Isaiah 14:12-14], and that Jesus Christ is superior to angels because he is God and is not any angel’s brother [Hebrews 1-2].

► Brigham Young, deceased president of the Mormons, said Eve was brought to Earth with her husband Michael the Archangel and Michael became Adam who is our Father and God.

“When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his many wives. …He is Michael, the Archangel, the Ancient of Days… He is our Father and our God.” [Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 1, pp. 50-51]

■ Genesis 2:7 says God made Adam from the dust of the ground and Genesis 2:21-22 says Eve was made from Adam’s rib.  The Bible also says the angels are created beings and were in heaven with God when he created Earth [Job 38:4-7], that Michael is protector of Israel [Daniel 10:13, 21; 12:1], and that angels never marry nor are given in marriage [Mark 12:25]. Furthermore, God’s name is Jehovah [Exodus 6:3] and he is never called Michael.

► Mormonism says Adam & Eve didn’t really do anything bad.

“The fall of man came as a blessing in disguise… I never speak of the part Eve took in this fall as a sin, nor do I accuse Adam of a sin… It is not always a sin to transgress the law.  This was a transgression of the law, but not a sin in the strict sense, for it was something that Adam and Eve had to do!” [Joseph Fielding Smith (10th president of the Mormon Church), Doctrines of Salvation, v. 1, pp. 114-115.]

■According to 1 John 3:4, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

► Mormons believe the Book of Mormon is better than the Bible.

“I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct book of any on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” [Joseph Smith (founder), History of the Church, v. 4, p. 461]

■2 Samuel 22:31 says  “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried…” The Bible also says “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul…” [Psalm 19:7].  In other words, the Bible is just fine as it is and cannot be improved.

► Mormon leaders teach that salvation by grace is Satanic and sins are forgiven by our works.

■”One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation…” [Spencer W. Kimball (12th president of the Mormon Church), The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 206]

“…however powerful the saving grace of Christ, it brings exaltation to no man who does not comply with the works of the gospel.” [Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 207]

■Romans 3:20 says “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight…” Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.” A man who can save himself is a man who can take the glory away from God for that salvation.

► Mormon leaders have claimed that Jesus was a polygamist and had kids.

“…Jesus Christ was married at Cana of Galilee, that Mary, Martha, and others were his wives, and that he begat children.” [Journal of Discourses (sermons of early leaders of the Mormon Church), v. 2, p. 210]

■John 2 says Jesus went to the marriage at Cana because he and his disciples were called, or invited, to the wedding.  If he were the groom, he wouldn’t have to be invited.  The Bible also teaches that Jesus’ purpose for coming to Earth was to die for our sins and Jesus taught his time on Earth would be short, so getting married and having children were not his goals and he didn’t do either.

► Mormons don’t believe God is omnipresent.

“It has been said, therefore, that God is everywhere present; but this does not mean that the actual person of any one member of the Godhead can be physically present in more than one place at one time… It is impossible for Him to occupy at one time more than one space of such limits…” [James Edward Talmage (member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of LDS), Articles of Faith, p. 43]

■Proverbs 15:3 says “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.”

► Mormons believe your past sins can be placed back on you.

“…but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return, saith the Lord your God.” [Doctrines and Covenants (scriptural canon of LDS) 82:7]

■1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Hebrews 8:12 says “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”

► Mormons believe those who died in their sins can leave hell.

“Repentance opens the prison doors to the spirits in hell; it enables those bound with the chains of hell to free themselves…” [Bruce McConkie (member of the First Council of the 70 & Quorum of the 12 Apostles of LDS), Mormon Doctrine, p. 755]

■In Jesus’ story of the rich man and Lazarus, Abraham said to the rich man in hell “…between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence,” [Luke 16:26].

► Mormon leaders have now hidden the fact that Joseph Smith was involved in the occult. The 1833 Book of Commandments was changed to the 1835 edition of Doctrines and Covenants and deleted his use of a divining rod.

“Now this is not all, for you have another gift, which is the gift of working with the [divining] rod: behold it has told you things: behold there is no other power save God, that can cause this [divining] rod of nature, to work in your hands…” [Book of Commandments (revelations of Joseph Smith Jr.) 7:3, 1833]

“Now this is not all thy gift, for you have another gift, which is the gift of Aaron; Behold there is no other power save the power of God, that can cause this gift of Aaron to be with you.” [Doctrines and Covenants 8:6-7]

■God made it clear he hates divination when he told Moses “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,” [Deuteronomy 18:10]

► Mormon leaders believe the moon is inhabited by humans.

“As far back as 1837, I know that [Joseph Smith] said the moon was inhabited by men and women the same as this earth, and that they lived to a greater age than we do…” [Oliver B. Huntington, The Young Woman's Journal, v. 3, p. 263]

“…a handful of astronauts didn’t see any inhabitants in the tiny area they viewed when they landed on the moon decades ago…man has no scientific or revealed knowledge of whether or not there are inhabitants on the earth’s moon.” [Stephen W. Gibson (Mormon leader & entrepreneur), One-Minute Answers to Anti-Mormon Questions, 1995, p. 80]

■With the powerful telescopes that we have available today that have looked at the moon, it is a scientific fact no humans live there and that the conditions on the moon are not conducive to humans living there.

► Joseph Smith was a Mason and incorporated Masonic rituals into Mormon ceremonies.

“I officiated as grand chaplain at the installation of the Nauvoo Lodge of Free Masons…I was with the Masonic Lodge and rose to the sublime degree.” [Joseph Smith, History of the Church, v. 4, pp. 550-552]

“Six weeks later, on May 2, 1842, Smith was teaching these Masonic secrets as his own ‘revelations’ to Mormon leaders as the temple Endowment.” [History of the Church, v. 4, pp. 550, 552]

■Freemasonry is a sanitized version of devil worship and 1 Corinthians 10:21 says “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”

Sisters of secrecy: more facts on Eastern Star

In my previous post on the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) I briefly gave a history of the secret society, highlighted its Masonic ties, and discussed a few of the gods represented by the “Eastern Star” on which they base their name.  I will now highlight the goddesses behind the Order, some of the symbols they embrace, and their Cabalistic Motto.

Embracing the goddesses

When Rob Morris was organizing the basic layout of the OES, he decided there would be five degrees, or points, and that there would be five female figures representing the Order.  Originally, he chose five goddesses from ancient paganism as his five female figures, then had second thoughts about bringing pagan ideas to the forefront, possibly thinking that the majority of women would probably be turned off if the pagan ideas were the focus since most of the U.S. at the time professed Christianity.  So he pulled what I would call a “Constantine” by giving his goddesses Biblical concepts or names, but keeping the symbols of the women the same as the pagan goddesses.  Here they are:

  1. Jephthah’s daughter, who Morris named Adah: The OES claims that she illustrates respect to the binding force of a vow.  Jephthah made a vow to the Lord in Judges 11 that the first thing to greet him from his house when he returned from battle with a victory from God would be offered to the Lord.  The first to greet him when he returned home from that battle was his daughter, so he kept his vow to the Lord in spite of how much it would cost him.  Adah was originally the goddess Luna, the goddess of the moon.  Luna is the “goddess with three forms” and also called Diana, Selene, Artemis, and Hecate.  She is also goddess of witchcraft, sorcery, night (darkness), the lower world, and patron saint of feminists and lesbians since she perpetually shunned males.  The followers of Diana were the ones who started a riot against Paul and his companions in Acts 19 for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. Ruth: She illustrates devotion to religious principles. Originally she was Flora, the goddess of springtime and flowers who was also called Chloris.  Every year in honor of Flora, the Romans held the festival of Floralia in the spring.  Floralia was much like Mardi Gras where the people participated in “merriment and licentiousness.”1 This is a nice way to say they had drunken orgies.2
  3. Esther: Illustrates fidelity to kindred and friends.  Esther was previously Hebe, the goddess of youth who was cupbearer to the gods and goddess of domestic matters.  The Romans called her Juventas.
  4. Martha: Represents undeviating faith in the hour of trial.  Her corresponding goddess was Thetis (Thesis), goddess of creation and the sea.  She was mother of Achilles and dipped him in the river Styx to make him invincible.  Thetis had the power to prophesy (i.e. fortune-telling) and was a shape-shifter.
  5. Electa: This name is not in the Bible, but Morris gave this name to the woman hosting the church in her house in 2 John.  The goddess who she replaced in the original plan of the Eastern Star was Areme, a secret goddess of the Egyptians whose name is not widely known.

Symbols

Masonic organizations like OES rely heavily on the use of symbols to hide the true meanings behind the doctrines they embrace.  One Masonic publication admits,”It may be asserted in the broadest terms that the Freemason who knows nothing of our symbolism knows little of Freemasonry.  He may be able to repeat every line of the ritual without an error, yet, if he does not understand the meaning of the ceremonies, the signs, the words, the emblems and figures, he is a Masonic ignoramus.”3 So here is a look at some of the symbols used by OES:

  • Broken Column: This symbol can be traced back to ancient Egypt and symbolizes the fall of Osiris.  Some depictions show Isis weeping over the column while holding a sprig of wheat in her right hand and a canopic jar in her left with Horus (Chronos, Saturn) standing behind her while she reads in a book of incantations to try to resurrect her husband. The broken column is also a phallic symbol where the column is the male member and the circular base is female genitalia.  So here we see again how Masonic organizations are preoccupied with sex.

  • Pentagram:  The emblem of OES has a five-pointed upside-down star.  This, of course, represents black magic, the Goat of Mendes, Baphomet, or his most popular name, Satan.  They also use the right side up five-pointed star which represents white magic, the Light Bearer, or Lucifer, the other name for Satan.

  • Gavel: Symbol of power and Thor’s hammer.  Thor was the Norse god of thunder, lightning, air, and fertility.  Thor was lord of the air and the Bible reveals clearly to us who that really is in Ephesians 2:2.  Thor’s hammer was also a phallic symbol of the male member.
  • Equilateral Triangle: It is used on Eastern Star badges and represents the perfection or divinity of humankind.  Manly P. Hall, a 33 degree Mason, in his book The Lost Keys of Freemasonry (1923) states on p. 92 that “Man is a god in the making.”  This idea that man can become a god is also taught by various other Masonic authors like Joseph Fort Newton, Arthur Edward Waite, and J. D. Buck.  The origins of this doctrine go all the way back to the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 when the Serpent told Eve “…ye shall be as gods…”
  • Hexagram: Also called King Solomon’s Seal, the Star of David, this double equilateral triangle is the joining of the “Water Triangle” and “Fire Triangle.”  It symbolizes contact with the dead (necromancy) and calling up devils.  It is also a phallic symbol of the joining of male and female genitalia.

These are just a few of the symbols Eastern Star uses.  Since they are Masonic, they also use all of the symbols promoted by Freemasonry.  When the whole body of symbols is taken into account, it becomes obvious how corrupt an organization OES really is.

Cabalistic Motto

Cabala, or Kabalah, or Qabalah, is Jewish-based theosophy (occultism).  Eastern Star has a motto based on this mystic cult which appears as an acronym on their seal–FATAL.  The acronym is a warning to its members about divulging their secrets but also stands for the motto, “Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely.”  This password used in Eastern Star rituals is an offshoot of phrases found in the Song of Solomon.  In Song of Solomon the man in chapter 5 was called chiefest among ten thousand and altogether lovely and he represents Christ.  The phrase was used by Christians of old to express their love for Christ.  The OES has given it a bastardized meaning.  By reciting the motto, OES believes the initiate achieves salvation.

The following statements are used with the five women in each degree mentioned above:

  • Jephthah’s daughter, because she devoted her life to preserve her father from eternal infamy, was the Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely
  • Ruth, because she forsook home, friends, and all things, in a heathen land, to seek out the people of God, was the Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely
  • Esther,  because she offered her crown and life to preserve her people, was Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely
  • Martha, because amidst all the despair of death and the woe of desolation, she preserved her faith in the Word of God, was the Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely
  • Electa, because in her martyrdom for Christ’s sake she hesitated not to sacrifice all things that love can prize or friendship cherish, was the Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely4

So the Eastern Star has turned a phrase once used to represent Christ into a phrase to represent their initiates and have essentially pushed the Lord Jesus Christ aside to save themselves by their own works so they can become a god.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [Romans 1:21]

Dark matters in the Eastern Star

History of the Eastern Star

The Order of the Eastern Star (OES) is a masonic organization that is the sister organization of the Freemasons.  It boasts that it is “the largest organization upon the face of the globe to which both men and women are eligible,”1 although the majority of its members are female. Dr. Rob Morris (1818-1888), a very well-known and very active Mason, is credited with founding the Eastern Star, but the origins of the order are also said to be “shrouded in mystery,”2 just like the origins of their brothers, the Masons.  Some historians for the Order state that Eastern Star’s founding pre-dates Morris, going back as far as 1730 in France, having its roots in French “Androgynous Masonry,” also known as the “Adoptive Rite.”

Morris admitted in 1852 that he borrowed the structure of the organization from the French who introduced the “Androgynous degrees” into America when they came to help out the Americans in their struggles against Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War. Morris was born Robert William Peckham and changed his name years later to Rob Morris, adopting the last name of his foster father and shortening his first name to distinguish himself from the Robert Morris who signed the Declaration of Independence.

Rob Morris had a hand in establishing the five degrees of the organization and helped it grow internationally.  Eastern Star was mainly established because the wives of Masons kept complaining that the secrecy of their husbands was ruining their households since Masons could not discuss their dealings with their wives even when those husbands were putting large amounts of the money they earned to help out the Freemasons’ causes.  Since the wives were essentially being robbed of funds to run their households, the men knew that the women would not put up with this indefinitely and thought it would be best to create an organization for them based on the principles of Freemasonry where they could be close partners in Mason causes.  This is why females who join Eastern Star have to be related to a male Mason.

In 1868, Morris passed his mantle on to Robert Macoy, a fellow Mason, to carry on and expand the work of the Eastern Star.  Macoy rearranged how the Order was run and established chapters to give more organization to the Order.  He also updated the rituals.  His efforts created vast growth in the membership, but the high fees he charged for all of his work for the Order made him very wealthy, much to the chagrin of some of the members.

OES’s Masonic ties

There is some doublespeak that goes on with the OES.  On one hand they and the Freemasons claim they are not part of the Masons,3 but on the other hand they were founded by Freemasonry with rituals written by Freemasons.4 The OES by their actions show that they are Masonic. A “Worthy Matron” of the OES often explains to initiates that “We are not part of the Masonic institution, yet we are connected with Masonry by intimate and tender ties.”5 They are also told in a ritual “Ladies, you are connected with Masonry by ties far more intimate and tender than you are aware of, or than I can even inform you of.”6

At OES meetings where degrees are bestowed upon a person, it is a requirement that a Master Mason or Mason of higher rank be present to be the moderator.  Additionally, it is required that each Eastern Star chapter have Master Masons as their officers.

“We have seen His star in the East…”

In a false attempt to portray themselves as a Christian organization, the Eastern Star uses the motto, “We have seen His star in the East, and are come to worship Him,” which is a quote from Matthew 2:2.  They claim that the name “Eastern Star” refers to the star over Bethlehem that the Magi followed to find the Christ child to worship him.  However, a close look at the scripture shows this is faulty theology.  First of all, we see in Matthew 2 that the Magi came from lands that were east of Bethlehem.  If they were headed toward Bethlehem from their eastern Asian lands, they would be headed west, not east.  This means the star of Bethlehem was to their west.  When the Magi said, “We have seen his star in the East,” they meant that they were the ones in the East, speaking of what their earthly position was in reference to the star, when they saw the star to their west over Israel.

That being the case, we know that their claim of being “Christian” is unfounded and the star they embrace has nothing to do with Christ, the Lord of glory.  Even Albert Mackey, a Master Mason, in his A Manual of the Lodge (1870, pp. 50-51) admitted that the idea of the star representing Christ was “considered as too sectarian in its character and unsuitable to the universal religion of Masonry.”  So who is this star really referring to?  In various Masonic publications, this star is called the hex sign, the pentalpha (i.e. pentagram), the blazing star, and the astral light.  Masons such as George Oliver, Francois Ribadeau Dumas, Eliphas Levi, Albert Pike, Henry C. Clausen, and others, in their Masonic writings say that the star symbolizes the following:

Thor: Norse god of thunder, lightning, and fertility.  In Norse paganism, he carried a hammer, which was a symbol of his physical strength and phallic symbol of his romantic prowess.  He was also known as the one who “presides over the air.”

The Dog Star, Sirius: An Egyptian god, also called Anubis, who was god of the Underworld and god of magic and divination.

Saturn: the Greek name for the Roman god, Chronos.  He is the god of time, temptations, malediction (curses), and lord of death.

Mercury: Called Hermes by the Greeks, this Roman god was messenger of the gods and god of commerce and travel.  He ushered souls of the dead to the lower world.  He was also the god of incantations, astrology, magic, and necromancy.

Pan: Greek god of nature, forests, pastures, flocks.  He is portrayed as a satyr, or faun, (part man, part goat) and is the god on whom Baphomet is based.  Pan is also god of mischief, sexual lusts of all kind, and androgyny.  It is from this god that we derive the word “panic,” which is what he caused in the mythological stories when he would scare shepherds and animals with his noises in field or forest and the feelings of fear he caused when he grabbed women, girls, and boys to sexually molest them.

These are just a few of the many deities this star represents.  All of these gods are just different forms of one spiritual being–Satan himself.  Yes, Satan is the god behind the OES.

…the god of this world [i.e. Satan] hath blinded the minds of them which believe not… [2 Corinthians 4:4]

The slavery of Freemasonry pt. 2

In the previous post, I discussed some of the statements and doctrines made by Masons in comparison to God’s word.  I will now discuss some Masonic practices to measure them against the Bible.  The practices of the Freemasons are many and are given various meanings at the lower degrees to hide their true meanings which are often only disclosed when one reaches the 33°.

The use of symbols

Here are a few of the symbols with their meanings:

  • Compass & square: Masons at lower degrees are told that the square symbolizes the squaring of his actions and the compass is to make sure he stays within the boundaries of mankind and fellow Masons.  The “G” in the middle stands for God who shows us the light so we can accomplish these goals.  As a whole, the symbol stands for the point within the circle.Compass and square

According to Albert Mackey, the Master Mason, “The point within the circle is an…important symbol in Freemasonry…The symbol is really a beautiful but somewhat abstruse allusion to the old sun-worship, and introduces us for the first time to that modification of it, known among the ancients as the worship of the phallus.” (Mackey, Albert.  The Manual of the Lodge.  New York: Clark Maynard Co., 1870, p. 156)  So in reality the compass & square are symbolic of the male and female sex organs coming together to form the  “G” which is the “generative principle”, i.e. sexual intercourse.  Since there is an emphasis on sexual intercourse, is it any surprise that men in Masonic organizations like the Shriners have been rumored as committing sexual harassment against women?

  • Baphomet, the horned god:  Masons claim they inherited this symbol from the Knights Templar (who fought in the religious, ungodly wars of the Crusades on behalf of the Vatican).  The Templars claimed that Baphomet taught them the secrets of magic which enlightened them.Baphomet, symbol of occultic evil

As you can see from the picture, this so-called horned god is the same as the well-known goat’s head used by Witches and Satanists.  In Jesus’ parable, the sheep were separated from the goats on Judgment Day and the goats were the ones who were rejected and sent to hell.

  • The pentagram, or five-pointed star: This is symbolic of the five points of fellowship in Freemasonry.  However, the pentagram is a prominent fixture in occultic practices.  In reality, the pentagram refers to “the law of fives.”  This law of fives appears in two different forms of two orders within the Masons.  In the order of the Palladium, there are five steps in their program, namely:

Adoption: fellowship with Lucifer by an oath

Illumination: to open oneself to psychic powers by using drugs and the occult

Conversation: communicating with the dead (necromancy)

Congress: being joined in spiritual marriage to the dead (possession by an evil spirit)

Union: being totally controlled by an evil spirit

In the Order of the Illuminati there are five stages that they try to control human history with:  (1)Chaos: no set order, (2) Discord: a class arises to seek control, (3)Confusion: making attempts to resolve conflicts between stages 1 and 2, (4) Bureaucracy: the obsession of monitoring everything in a society, and (5) Aftermath: the decline of society that leads back to stage 1.

    • All-seeing eye: Freemasons claim this is the eye of God, who is always watching us and sees everything we do.  This eye is actually part of step 2 of the Palladium mentioned above which teaches that to open the Third Eye (the Ajna chakra in Hinduism), one must use drugs and learn the occultic methods of the Illuminati.  When this eye is opened, the person becomes psychic and has open fellowship with Lucifer.

  • Unfinished Pyramid with the All-seeing eye:  This symbol on the back of our dollar bills is borrowed from the mysticism of ancient Egypt, referring to the eye of an Egyptian deity.  It has been called the “Eye of Providence”.  To the higher Masons, it denotes the Masonic hierarchy with those who have been illumined (Illuminati) to Lucifer’s power at the top.  The unfinished pyramid means that the ultimate goal of the freemasons (one world government with a one world religion) has not been accomplished yet.  On our dollar bills, you will notice at the bottom of the pyramid is 1776 in Roman numerals.  That date is actually referring to the year the Illuminati began which happens to be the same year the founding fathers declared independence from Britain.  “Annuit Coeptis” means “He [Providence] favors our undertakings.”  “Novus Ordo Seclorum” means “new order of the ages.”  The U.S. government in February 2008 tried to debunk the idea that the seals on the back of the U.S. dollar are masonic in nature, but our government has been known to follow the policy of “lie and deny” when it suits them.  There are too many coincidences occurring in these symbols for them to be non-conspiratorial and non-Masonic.

It’s obvious that these symbols are adopted from pagan practices and are anti-Christian in nature.

The use of oaths

Before joining the Masons, the person is told by the Master of the Lodge while blindfolded and dressed in tattered clothes symbolizing slavery, “Mr. so-and-so, before you can be permitted to advance any farther in Masonry, it becomes my duty to inform you that you must take upon yourself a solemn oath or obligation, appertaining to this degree, which I, as Master of this Lodge, assure you will not materially interfere with the duty that you owe to your God, yourself, family, country or neighbor.  Are you willing to take such an oath?” (Duncan, Malcolm C.  Duncan’s Masonic Ritual and Monitor.  New York: David McKay Co., Inc., p. 33)

If he agrees, he ends his oath by saying, “All this I most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear, with a firm and steadfast resolution to perform the same…binding myself under no less penalty than that of having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by its roots, and my body buried in the rough sands of the sea, at low-water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in 24 hours, should I ever knowingly violate this…obligation.”  (Duncan, Malcolm C.  Duncan’s Masonic Ritual and Monitor.  New York: David McKay Co., Inc., pp. 34-35)  In other words, “if I break my oath, you have my permission to murder me.”

When someone reaches the Royal Arch degree, he vows “I will keep all the secrets of a Companion Royal Arch Mason (when communicated to me as such, or I knowing them to be such), without exceptions. …I will not speak evil of a Companion Royal Arch Mason, behind his back nor before his face, but will appraise him of all approaching danger, if in my power. …[I will] employ a Companion Royal Arch Mason in preference to any other person of equal qualifications.” (Duncan, Malcolm C.  Duncan’s Masonic Ritual and Monitor.  New York: David McKay Co., Inc., pp. 229-230)

Jesus said, “…ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all…But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” (Matthew 5:33-34, 37)

“Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.” Matthew 23:10.  There’s one Master and he’s definitely not the Master of the Lodge.

Furthermore, it’s clear these oaths are contradictions and lies.  When he is first initiated, the person is told he will not have to materially interfere with anyone by his oath.  Then at the end of his oath, he gives them permission to kill him.  Isn’t that a material interference?  Additionally at the Royal Arch oath he has to keep secrets no matter what (another material interference if someone has been harmed) and he promises to show favoritism in his hiring practices (which is another blatant material interference on a non-Mason’s life).  Apparently the oaths don’t mean much if you can break them by using another oath.

Taking into account these practices by the Freemasons which fly in the face of God’s word–teaching people to embrace paganism, lies, favoritism, and deceptive practices–how can a Christian remain involved in such an organization?  Could they use the excuse that the Lodge is a big help to them in getting to know important people?  Should they be a part of it because its family tradition?

Jesus said, “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26

“But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.” 1 Corinthians 10:20-21

Therefore, a Christian who is giving his sacrifices of money, time, and other resources to the Lodge is fellowshiping with devils and needs to examine himself.  If he is truly of God, he will not continue to allow anyone or anything jeopardize his relationship with God.  Freemasonry is about being the slave of Lucifer, otherwise known as Satan.

The slavery of Freemasonry pt. 1

Freemasonry is an organization that supposedly dates back to ancient times and it is difficult to determine who started it and how they started it.  There are documents mentioning it in the 1300s and afterwards, but it is believed that consistent documentation of the organization did not take place until 1717 when the Grand Lodge of England was formed.  There are different stages in freemasonry that a member can advance to, called degrees, with the 33° being the highest one can reach.

Freemasonry, with several of the Founding Fathers including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin being Masons, enjoyed a great deal of popularity when the U.S. was first established as a nation.  But this popularity suffered a severe blow when Captain William Morgan, a Royal Arch Mason, was abducted from a  jail in Batavia City, New York in 1826 and was murdered by a group of Masons for openly revealing the secrets of the Masons.  The Masons responsible for his death were never punished for his murder.  Since the judge involved in the trial was a Mason himself, it became a popular notion that there was a cover-up in play regarding the Morgan affair, and most U.S. citizens began an anti-Mason campaign which was strong for several decades in the 1800s.  Nevertheless, Freemasonry bounced back since many prominent figures in the U.S., including Presidents, kept joining the secret society.

Masons often present themselves as being a harmless secret fraternal society that loves to do charitable work.  Many people who have no involvement with freemasonry often look at it as being suspicious since Masons are so secretive about what they do and what they believe.  Is freemasonry really harmless or should we beware of them?  Are they a religion or just a social organization?  Let’s take a look at some of the things that are taught in the Lodges and see if they are in line with the ultimate truth–the word of God.

  • A highly respected 33° Mason named Albert Pike (who was also a Confederate general in the U.S. Civil War) once said “Every Masonic Lodge is a temple of religion and its teachings are instructions in religion. …Masonry propogates no creed except its own most simple and sublime one; that universal religion taught by nature and reason.” (Pike, Albert.  Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.  Charleston, SC: Supreme Council of the Thirty-Third Degree, 1950, p. 213).
  • The Bible says man should live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3) and that he should not rely on his own reasoning (Proverbs 3:5) since our ways are always right in our own eyes (Proverbs 21:2) which leaves us open to deceive ourselves.
  • Albert Pike claimed that “[t]o understand [freemasonry's] mystic meanings, you must open the pages of the Sohar and Siphra de Zeniutha, and other kabalistic books, and ponder deeply on their meaning. It must suffice to say, that … the Creative Energy of the Deity, is represented as a point, and that point in the centre of the Circle of immensity. It is to us in this (33rd) Degree, the symbol of that unmanifested Deity, the Absolute, who has no name.” (emphasis mine.  Pike, Albert.  Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.  1871)
  • The Bible says the one true God of the universe is not unmanifested.  He has manifested himself in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 3:15-16).  Additionally, the true and living God has a name, which is stated in several places in the Bible (see Exodus 6:3 and Psalm 83:18).
  • According to Albert Mackey, another highly regarded 33° Mason, the god of freemasonry can be any god you choose.  “Be assured…that God is equally present with the pious Hindu in the temple, the Jew in the synagogue, the Mohammedan in the mosque, and the Christian in the church.” (Mackey, Albert.  Mackey’s Revised Encyclopedia of Freemasonry.  Richmond, VA: Macoy Publishing, 1966, pp. 409-410).
  • Jehovah said “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”  Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father [Jehovah], but by me.”
  • Albert Pike once said, “Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay is also god.  For the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods: darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil as the pedestal is necessary to the state. …                    Thus the doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay; but Lucifer, God of Light and God of Good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the God of Darkness and Evil.” (de LaRive, A. C. La Femme et l’Enfant dans la Franc.  Paris, France: Maçonnerie Universelle, 1889, p. 588.
  • The word of God states that God is light and in him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).  Lucifer was created by God and is in no way his equal since he is not omnipotent, omnipresent, or omniscient like the most High is.  Lucifer wanted to be like the most High but he was cut down to hell (Isaiah 14:12-16).
  • The Knights Templar ritual that an initiate goes through in Masonry teaches that in order to be saved, an initiate has to do works of penitence and undertake long pilgrimages and fight to defend the Christian religion.
  • God’s word says we are saved by God’s grace (unearned favor) through faith in Jesus Christ.  Works have nothing to do with us receiving salvation and the defense of our faith is by our words not by physical violence.
  • Freemasonry holds to the doctrine that Jesus is neither divine, nor did he rise from the dead.
  • It is written, “…every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist…” (1 John 4:3)
  • Albert Pike said, “No man has any right in any way to interfere with the religious belief of another.”  In other words, no preaching of the gospel allowed.
  • Jesus commanded, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…” Matthew 28:19-20.

Eye-opening video on Freemasonry
Albert Pike and his influence on Freemasonry

Albert Pike (1809-1891) has been one of the most influential Masons to walk the Earth.  As I mentioned above, he fought for the Confederacy as a general in the Civil War and his racist, segregationist views are why, even until recent times, American lodges of the Scottish Rite have resisted recognizing lodges that are mainly African American.  He stated in his book Irano-Aryan Faith and Doctrine As Contained in the Zend-Avesta that:

“…both the Creation account of Genesis and Darwin’s theory of evolution were false because the white man could not have come from the same source as the black man!”

The fact that he disputed the Biblical account shows that Pike, who claimed to be Christian in public, was in fact anti-Christian in his actions.  The Bible cleary states God “made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth,” [Acts 17:26].  His anti-Christian nature is further proven by his membership in the Theosophical Society, an occultist organization founded in 1875 for the purpose of “spiritualist investigations” (including seances and sorcery) with Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, a famous occultist, as his friend and associate. [David Carrico, Lucifer--Eliphas Levi--Albert Pike and the Masonic Lodge, Evansville, IN: Followers of Jesus Christ, 1991, p.  14]

Pike held the positions of Grand Master of the Central Directory of Washington, D.C., Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Charleston (top position of American Masons), and Sovereign Pontiff of Universal Freemasonry (top position of worldwide Masons) all at the same time.  He alone was responsible for writing or rewriting all Masonic rituals from the 4th degree to the 33rd degree. [William T. Still, New World Order: The Ancient Plan of Secret Societies, Lafayette, LA: Huntington House, 1990, p. 124; Henry C. Clausen, Messages for a Mission, Supreme Council, 1977, p. 20]

A lot of Masons claim they don’t know about Albert Pike, but Masons of higher degrees have a great deal of respect for him even more than 100 years after his death.  Fred Kleinknecht, Sovereign Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction of Masonry wrote the following about Pike in the November 1992 Scottish Rite Journal:

Correctly understood, Albert Pike’s Morals and Dogma provides our Brethren a stimulus to thought, a source of inspiration, and even an aid to Scottish Rite growth.  Pike’s great work is not the book of an hour, a decade, or a century.  It is a book for all time …

I’ll give more info on freemasonry in my next post.  To find out more about the philosophies of the highly regarded Mason, Albert Pike, go to the Project Gutenberg website to read his writings.
