Blessed be the God of Israel and the Israel of God

The reason why the majority of the world hates Israel is because the majority of the world hates God and does not understand or care what God has said through his ancient prophets and apostles concerning his people.  Nevertheless, when we look at the blessings God has promised to Israel, we must keep in mind that not everyone who calls themselves a Jew is actually a Jew.  This shouldn’t surprise us since those of us who are Christian know that everyone who attends church regularly or says they are a Christian is not a Christian.

Paul states in 2 Corinthians 11 that Satan can transform himself into an angel of light and those who Satan sends out to preach another Jesus than the true Jesus transform themselves into ministers of righteousness.  Jesus even tells us through John the apostle in Revelation that there are those who call themselves Jews but are actually the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9; 3:9).  Who are the true Jews?  Listen to what Isaiah says:

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.  The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.  For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return [to God]:” (Isaiah 10:20-22a)

Only the descendants of Jacob who trust in God are true Jews.  This trust in God refers to their acceptance that Jesus is Messiah and this truth is echoed by Paul when he says “they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: … Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:” (Romans 9:6, 27).  Because God will always have a remnant preserved for himself in the nation of Israel, Israel must be preserved at all costs.  Only those who are ignorant of this are the ones who think it is okay to give away their God-given lands to their enemies.  In Isaiah’s prophecy mentioned above, it is revealed that Israel has a tendency to rely on people that hate them in their hearts.  This is true today and will remain true until Christ returns to annihilate their enemies.  The Antichrist will use this trust to betray them after he helps them get their temple built in a godless peace agreement (2 Thessalonians 2:4).

The godless majority of the world don’t know that God will never forsake Israel:

“Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:9-10)

“And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.  And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:3-4)

“And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.  And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.” (Amos 9:14-15, emphasis mine)

What will happen to Israel’s enemies?  The same thing that has always happened to their enemies–they will be destroyed.  The nations of today would do well to take a look at history to see what happened to Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Rome, and other empires that persecuted Israel, but their hearts are hardened.

“And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel [Jerusalem], even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.  It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.” Isaiah 29:7-8

“Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.  Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.  For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” (Isaiah 41:11-13)

“In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:8-9)

Yes, most of Israel has hardened their hearts against God, but God will rescue Israel because of the promises he made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and because there are still enough Jews who believe in Jesus Christ that makes Israel worth saving.  So I say blessed be the God of Israel and blessed be the Israel of God!
