UK’s NHS Pressured Disabled Kids to Accept “Do Not Resuscitate” Orders During COVID Panic

During the height of the panic over COVID, healthcare professionals were rightfully hailed as heroes for the sacrifices they made to try to save people with COVID. But now that the churned up panic has subsided a bit (except, of course, for recent efforts to try to stir up panic again with the Omicron con), things are coming to light that reveal not all healthcare professionals have acted responsibly. A recent report covered by exposes the fact that a disturbing number of doctors and nurses in the UK pressured kids with learning disabilities to accept “do not attempt resuscitation” (DNAR) or ” do not resuscitate” (DNR) orders should the kids become gravely ill.

Great Britain’s National Health Services (NHS), a single-payer, government run system based on socialism, for several years has had serious financial challenges. They’ve seen how socialist-based systems are ripe for failure because, as Margaret Thatcher once said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” COVID added a heavy toll to NHS’s already unstable health system, so to alleviate some of the burdens, someone in the government thought it would be a grand idea to tell the doctors to inform kids that they can “either request a DNAR or a doctor can assign one to a patient without their permission.” This was during or after the time they pressured adults with learning disabilities or mental illnesses to accept such orders, according Nathaniel Charles at Breitbart.

Parents such as Debbie Corns, who has a 15-year-old son with an autism-related learning disability, are sharing their nightmare stories of how general practitioners pressured their minor kids into refusing life-saving medical treatment if something critical happens to their health. They point out how their kids aren’t in a position to properly consent to such a suggestion and are appalled at how kids’ lives are being devalued simply because of their learning disability or mental illness.

This is yet another real life example of what happens in a fallen world when people embrace a God-hating, Bible-hating, Christian-hating system like socialism, which is linked to evolution. Human life is eventually devalued after their socialist programs are implemented by falsely labeling such programs “liberal” or “progressive” when they aren’t truly liberal in the real spirit of the term. These so-called liberals are walking fulfillments of Isaiah’s prophecy of those who are falsely called liberal (Isaiah 32:5-7) when they are actually “churls” who are vile while they “practise hypocrisy” and “devise wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words.” God, on the other hand, made it known in both the Old Testament and the New Testament that people with disabilities are valuable and priceless simply because they are created in God’s image.

When Moses doubted his own ability to represent Israel in confronting Pharaoh, he pointed out his speech disability when God called him. In response, Jehovah said, “Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?” (Exodus 4:11). He was pointing out that Moses’s disability did not exempt him from serving the Lord. When God gave Moses the Mosaic law, he commanded in Leviticus 19:14

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

To emphasize further the respect society should have for anyone who is disabled, in Deuteronomy 27:18 the Lord commanded:

Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

King David also exhibited Christ-like qualities when he honored his covenant with Jonathan by taking Jonathan’s disabled son, Mephibosheth, into his household to treat Mephibosheth as one of his own sons. In the New Testament, we see that the Lord Jesus Christ loved all people regardless of any disability they had. The lame, the blind, and people with mental illnesses or any type of ailment or disability were healed because he loved them (Matthew 4:24). If this situation with NHS can teach us anything as Christians, it is that whenever society adopts such ungodly principles to devalue life, even if it’s widely accepted, we should stay true to what God’s word teaches. All human life has value from the womb to the tomb and should be preserved, unless a person commits a crime that the Lord says is worthy of the death penalty. God forbid that we would ever accept anything less than that.
