The teenage male shooter at Marshall County High School was an atheist who admired Stalin, according to screenshots of his now-deleted social media account(s) being distributed across the Internet. Nevertheless, his heinous act of killing two schoolmates and injuring over a dozen others has prompted student-led prayers across the Bible Belt state with school staff joining in. Many students have also shared their prayers for the victims, their families, the school, and the shooter himself on various social media platforms.
I pray that this will lead to more genuine spiritual fervor that will have a lasting ripple effect on people’s lives stretching even beyond the state of Kentucky for eternity.
