Why science will never be the key to immortality

Based on what I’ve seen in the news in recent weeks, there continues to be a fascinating obsession with immortality. The proposed solutions put forth focus on theoretical science or pseudoscience, ranging from pharmaceuticals to manipulate DNA to various methods of transhumanism to either merge man with machine, or convert man to a machine.

Such theorists are correct in assuming the human body is flawed and needs to be remedied, but they ignore the root cause of what led to the fatal flaw and ignore the person who holds the key to correcting that flaw. After centuries of scientific advances that have served us well, there is still one underlying factor to those advances we as humans have never overcome–as imperfect beings we can only make imperfect products based on imperfect designs. That is why science will never be our ultimate answer.neural implants

Space, matter, and time alongside our weaknesses and the laws of thermodynamics have a way of working against us every time. So the answer, the remedy to reach immortality has to be someone who exists outside of all of those factors, but the scientists involved with attempting to conjure up immortality without God will not acknowledge that–wishing to be gods unto themselves. And no amount of money will help them, not now, not ever. The Bible in the Psalms speaks prophetically to this and their faulty assumptions in Psalm 49–

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations

13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Only God can redeem souls to grant them victory over the grave. Even if the wealthy and their posterity buy into and promote their great boastings and hopes of redeeming people that they should live forever, none of them by any means (including their wealth, power, or science) will accomplish that. That’s why I have embraced the saving grace of my Lord Jesus Christ through faith. I want a better body and a better life than the one bound by this Earth. Jehovah is the only one who can supply it.
