Climate scientists have noted that over the past 40 years, starting in the late 1970s, typhoons have intensified 12-15% and have occurred more often in East Asia in places like China, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, and their nearby neighbors. They have chalked it up to the warming of the waters in that region that have led to rapid increases of wind speeds along coastal areas.
Some scientists are quick to blame it on man-made global warming, seeing this as the perfect opportunity to promote their agenda that includes climate agreements calling for carbon taxes, decreased population, and dialing back the use of technological conveniences and fossil fuels. However, Columbia University’s Suzana Camargo has not jumped on that bandwagon yet. She has noted, “With such a short record it is impossible to distinguish between natural decadal variability and [any] anthropogenic signal.” Undoubtedly, “decadal variability” is referring to Earth’s known recorded pattern of warming for one to three decades followed by periods of cooling for about the same amount of time which dates back to before the Industrial Revolution.
Another telling sign that global warming alarmists are going overboard with their conclusions is the fact that the southwest Pacific, like Australia and New Zealand, have not experienced any such trends. However, what has been trending in the regions being hit by super typhoons is a resistance to genuine Christianity in addition to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and other criminal enterprises. Although we cannot scientifically measure the correlation between the super storms and animosity toward Christ or other ungodly behavior, the Bible does speak to the fact that God uses such storms as judgments to get people’s attention and Christ prophesied these things would happen in the run up to his return.
7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? …10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. Luke 21
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nahum 1
