5 reasons why God says Rome is Babylon in Revelation

In the Bible, the Lord and his prophets often called a nation or city by the name of another nation or city to highlight the similarities of the two places. This is why Rome, especially Vatican City, was prophetically called Babylon in Revelation 17. The two places are alike in so many ways, but I will point out just five of them.

[1] God likened Babylon to Sodom and Gomorrah and Rome is the same. In Isaiah 13:19, it was predicted that Babylon and its fall would be like Sodom and Gomorrah. This not only speaks of the suddenness of its fall but also what its culture and society were like before they fell. Genesis 13 says the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked. Genesis 19 and Ezekiel 16:49-50 reveals how wicked they were right before they burned. All of those same sins were present in Babylon (according to the Talmud) and are present today in Rome.

[2] Babylon, like Rome, refused to change its wicked ways. Jeremiah 51:9 explains how the Lord wanted Babylon to be healed from its wickedness, but it refused to be healed and, therefore, had to be forsaken. So it is with Rome. The Vatican claims it wants to reform its sodomy and pedophilia among its priests, but it continues to have priests who promote such behavior such as the two priests disciplined this week by the Vatican–one that came out as gay and another one who blamed child victims for seducing priests into pedophilia. In my opinion, they were disciplined for openly stating what the RCC wishes to remain secret.

[3] Babylon was full of hypocrisy, so is Rome. Babylon’s king Nebuchadnezzar, as recorded in Daniel, acted several times as if he revered Jehovah, then continued his idolatry with the worship of the golden image and worshiping himself. He even made a law for the empire to promote the worship of Jehovah (Daniel 3:29), then by his actions promoted the disobedience of that law to the point his grandson Belshazzar was idolatrous, occultic, and a drunkard. If one were to examine what the Vatican does, the same type of hypocrisy exists. They claim they’re not socialist, then they back socialism (see YouTube video below). They say they promote self-control, but many priests are drunkards. They have programs to reform gay or pedophile clergy, but secretly ship offending priests to South America to evade prosecution. And the list of hypocrisies goes on and on.

[4] Babylon loved its idols, like Rome. Isaiah 50:38 said Babylon “is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.” The Vatican is the same way as shown in this video.

[5] Babylon pretended to be friendly to nations before they implemented hostile takeovers, like Rome. When King Hezekiah got sick, Babylon sent ambassadors and gifts to Hezekiah after his recovery to pretend to wish him well and Hezekiah showed them all of his treasures and secrets. Isaiah severely reprimanded him for doing that (Isaiah 39) and told Hezekiah they would use that information to conquer Judah in the future. So it is with the Vatican today. They have the world’s largest spy network with Jesuit agents in all types of local, state, and federal government agencies of nations throughout the world and in corporations so they can manipulate all kinds of situations.

It’s no wonder that the Lord will one day destroy Rome, as predicted in Revelation.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:4
