Gay rights activists often ask their detractors, “How are our rights going to hurt you? We’re not trying to hurt anybody!” But given recent lawsuits about suing bed & breakfasts over not holding same sex ceremonies and other actions highlighting their intolerance, we know they’re lying. This incident shows how far they’re willing to go, or stoop.
The school district in Cranston, Rhode Island, was happily participating in its annual father-daughter dances and mother-son ballgames, when the superintendent got a threatening letter from the ACLU last spring. The letter stated that such events were discriminatory against kids who don’t have a traditional family and showed gender discrimination, which violated the Rhode Island anti-discrimination laws shunning sexual orientation discrimination. After the superintendent consulted the attorneys for the district, the events were banned.
ACLU’s Steven Brown stated “Not every girl today is interested in growing up to be Cinderella — not even in Cranston. In fact, one of them might make a great major league baseball player someday.”
There you have it, folks. The Gestapo has arrived and don’t be surprised when you eventually find yourself in their crosshairs.
