“The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.” Psalm 36:1-4
When I read this scripture today, it reminded me of the things that are going on in our government that I’ve followed for the past few months that have disgusted me. Those events are the following:
- In May, President Bush secretly signed a decree called the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive stating that in the event a catastrophic event should occur in the U.S. resulting in huge casualties and negatively affecting “infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions,” the President will assume sole control of the government until he declares the emergency to be over. That’s a scary thought considering some of the poor choices he has made in the last few years.
- President Bush along with members of Congress tried their best to push through a poorly drafted immigration bill that the majority of our citizens did not want and they seemed to not care that the majority was against it.
- Only time will tell if this story is really true, but there have been reports (mainly by Jerome Corsi) that the Bush administration, in conjunction with the President of Mexico and Prime Minister of Canada, wants to form a North American Union that will compete with the European Union which allegedly would mean each country would have to give up some of its sovereignty and citizens’ rights.
- And, finally, there is the report by ABC News (based on an FBI document) that Iraqis and other people from the Middle East are being smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border.
It could be that all of these events are intertwined in some way. I’ve never been one to take conspiracy theories seriously, but since we are living in the last days and the book of Revelation implies the idea that some conspiracies will have to be in place for the Antichrist to rise to power, I’m starting to believe that various conspiracies are unfolding in our government. When it comes to our borders, everyone seems to agree that they need to be secured immediately. Then why is it that Congress will not pass a law that President Bush could sign that would be effective and enforced immediately to do just that? Instead, they wasted time on a bill that threw other things in like amnesty for illegal immigrants that only complicated matters. I’m starting to think that the President and Congress don’t really want the borders to be secured because that would stand in the way of the plans for a North American Union.
Since our borders are porous, people from the Middle East are now being smuggled in. And, surprise!, there is still no response from the federal government. Could it be that our President is hoping for a catastrophe like a terrorist attack to happen so he can force his directive on our nation to become the Putin or Chavez of the United States? One has to wonder. If that were to happen, he could then easily move forward to establish the North American Union and simply crush any opposition to his plans. Hmmm.
I’m hoping that all of this is speculation, but just in case it isn’t, I’ll be talking to God with the hope that he will work through people and circumstances to thwart the plans.
