Sweet deceptions: Catholicism and Christianity blow-by-blow

Contrary to what is commonly taught concerning the founding of Roman Catholicism, Peter was not the first pope or founder.  The Catholic Church was started by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great in 337 A.D.  As he witnessed the weakening of the Roman Empire and how it was divided into paganism vs. Christianity, he devised a religious system that he thought would combine the two in order to save the empire.  He took the pagan Roman gods and goddesses and renamed them with the names of New Testament biblical saints and proclaimed he had converted to Christianity.  In secret, he continued his worship of the sun god Sol (better known as Baal).  He welcomed both pagans and Christians into his new religion and the Roman Empire was rebirthed as the Holy Roman Empire.  True Christians refused to fall for the deception and continued to be persecuted, but many of them went into hiding.  Here are some of the beliefs held dear by Roman Catholicism compared to God’s truth:

  • Roman Catholicism teaches that Peter was the rock on which the church was built based on Matthew 16:18-19.
  • The true rock upon which the true Christian church is built is Jesus Christ.  Jesus actually said, “That thou art Peter (Petros, a small stone or pebble), and upon this rock (petra, a huge boulder or bedrock) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  This was said to Peter by Jesus to address the confession that Peter made about Christ in Matthew 16:16.  We have a second witness of what the name Peter means in John 1:42–“And when Jesus beheld him, he said, “Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone [a pebble].”  Peter even calls Jesus the rock, or petra, in 1 Peter 2:8.
  • Roman Catholicism teaches that their traditions are equal to the holy scriptures (Catechisms 80, 82).
  • Jesus said the traditions of men cause the transgression of God’s commandments (Matthew 15:2-6).  Paul even rebuked the believers at Colossae for subjecting themselves to religious ordinances established by men (Colossians 2:20-23).
  • Roman Catholicism says the priest has the power at mass to turn the wafer and wine into the actual body and blood of Christ (transubstantiation), thereby sacrificing Christ over and over, which would mean Christ’s sacrifice was no different than the Old Testament sacrifices under Mosaic law that had to be sacrificed over and over.  Anyone who denies transubstantiation and refuses the eucharist is accursed and is therefore worthy to be put to death (Canon 1 of the Council of Trent, 1563).
  • Hebrews 10:10, 14 says it was only necessary for Christ to die once for everyone and through the one-time offering of his life, those of us who believe in him are sanctified and perfected (made complete).  Taking communion is taken in remembrance (as a memorial) of Christ’s sacrifice (1 Corithians 11:24, 26).  1 John 3:15 says murderers do not have eternal life, so a genuine Christian will not actively seek someone’s death who disagrees with him.
  • Catholicism teaches that only the Pope and his bishops can interpret the scriptures (Catechism 100).
  • The Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit in every believer teaches us the meaning of the scriptures and it is not necessary for us to depend on men to do this for us (1 John 2:27).
  • Catholic Catechism 491 states that Mary never sinned.
  • Romans 3:23 says all have sinned and come short of God’s glory.  2 Corinthians 5:21 names Jesus Christ as the only one ever who knew no sin.
  • Catholics teach that Mary is the mother of God (Catechism 495).
  • The Bible states Mary is either called the mother of Jesus or “the mother of my Lord” by Elizabeth, which was just her way of acknowledging she would give birth to the Messiah.  God, since he is eternal, has no mother.  Jesus also said “For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” (Mark 3:35), thereby discouraging any deification of Mary.
  • Mary remained a virgin, according to Catechism 966.
  • Matthew 1:25 says Joseph knew (had sexual relations with) Mary after Jesus was born.  According to Matthew 13:55-56, Jesus had four literal half-brothers and several literal half-sisters.
  • Catholicism secretly teaches that all non-Catholics are heretics and that it is not a sin to kill them since it is God’s will for them to be wiped off the face of the earth because they want to destroy the Church. (Council of Trent)
  • The Bible says murder is sin, without exception, and that murderers will ultimately burn in the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8).  True Christians are taught to love our enemies and do good to them.
  • “The Roman Pontiff judges all men, but is judged by no one.  We declare, assert, define and pronounce: to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every human creature altogether necessary for salvation… That which was spoken of Christ… ‘Thou hast subdued all things under his feet,’ may well seem verified in me.  I have the authority of the King of kings.  I am all in all and above all, so that God, Himself and I, The Vicar of God, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do.  What therefore, can you make of me but God?”–Pope Boniface VIII in his Bull Sanctum, November 18, 1302. (Note: This declaration has never been rescinded or denied by any Pope who came after Boniface VIII)
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:4 says anyone who shows himself to be God or claims to be “above all” is antichrist.
  • Catholicism states that salvation is only through their church and can only be received if one fulfills their sacraments (Catechisms 846, 1129).
  • True Christianity teaches that only grace through faith in Christ, not religious works, can save.  Once a person confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord as a result of believing in their heart that he rose from the dead on the third day, he is saved and his salvation, if genuine, will result in works (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; James 2:17-26).

I think it’s clear that the doctrines of true Christianity and the doctrines of the false Christianity of Catholicism are diametrically opposed.  For more on the false doctrines of Roman Catholicism, click here.

  1. not that i disagree with your overall point. however, i think you should be careful to quote english Scripture to “prove” something.

if you look at 1 jn 2:27, it doesnt refer to an individual. in fact, it seems to corroborate more with the catholic view. because the “you” is plural. the reason we dont get that in english is because we no longer have the word “ye”, which is the plural form of you.

  2. Why is there such a huge difference between NA and SA? Is it the Catholicism or the Spanish Languge or the races? Why is there such a huge difference between the Haves and the HaveNots? Why is anarchy a stronger force in Spanish speaking countries where Catholicism reigns?

  3. Those are some good questions, Herb. Most of NA was under British rule while most of SA was under Spain and Portugal when the “New World” was being established. The Catholic Church has had Spain and Portugal under their evil thumb non-stop for centuries, while England has had alternating periods of Catholicism and Protestantism battling for the throne. The English realized how much evil occurred under Catholic rule and how the ruling class, if Catholic, oppressed the lower classes. Under the Protestants, the poor had a better chance to voice their grievances even if they were oppressed.

So this oppression of lower classes spilled over into the Spanish and Portuguese colonies and continues today whereas those who were under British rule took advantage of the freedoms they had to fight against British oppression to create for themselves greater freedoms.

The British allowed more freedom for people to think for themselves, while Spain and Portugal discouraged freedom of thought because it was not in the best interest of the Catholic Church.

  4. With regard to PB and J’s comment above about 1 John 2:27, it does not come close to agreeing with the Catholic view. John uses the plural because he is addressing everyone in the congregation and is telling them as a whole that they have all received the anointing individually and he teaches all of them what the truth is, so it is not necessary for them as an individual Christian to rely on men like Popes, bishops, cardinals, etc. to know what the truth is.

  5. Hey harryagaylord. I’m just a 13 year old kid, so I don’t have any big arguments that I want to go through with you, but Catholics are not evil as you stated in one of your previous responses. I’ll have you know that I am Catholic and I am very proud to be Catholic. Catholicism was the very first Christian religion. I don’t know everything about Catholicism, but I do know that it is better than any protestant religion because it is more acurate in its teachings of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

  6. SoS,

Catholic religious leaders train their followers well to believe everything they teach them. Have you taken the time to read the Bible (the KJV, not the Catholic one) for yourself? It just may be an eye-opening experience for you. You would probably find out that much of what you have learned in your religion or catechism classes doesn’t match what the word of God really says.

I know you are young and have been taught not to question authority of religious leaders, but sometimes questioning is necessary to find out the truth. Just imagine what would’ve happened if all the people molested by Catholic priests had never come forward.

You’ve only been allowed to see the rosy side of Catholicism that your leaders want you to see, but if you were to do some serious research on what the Catholic church has done since it was founded by Constantine, you would cringe or feel sick if you’re a human being who cares about human rights.

  7. CATHOLIC PRIESTS DON’T MOLEST PEOPLE!!! You are just threatened by the Catholics because you know they were the first Christian religion. I may be young but I have done my share of learning about Catholicism and I know that all of the teachings are true. Whether you believe they are or not. I love being Catholic and the priests do not molest people you lying…I will not result to swearing, no matter how much you deserve it.

  8. And Catholicism was not founded by Constantine. Peter was the first pope and the founder. And how could Catholicism had been created to combine paganism and Christianity when Catholicism WAS the first Christian religion.

  9. I would like to say that, Catholics are taught to question what they think they need to question. Now older catholics were not, but people that have become Catholic under Vatican 2 are taught to question what they need to question. Also other bibles leave out some of the more beautiful books in the bible. The Church was also founded by Peter. I have done reasearch on that. It says so in an encyclopedia around 65 years old. Also back then, the term half-brother/sister meant cousin, because they had no other word for it back then. I am not going to argue with you so please don’t try ot tell me I’m wrong.

  10. Roman Catholics consider St. Peter necessarily to be the first pope by virtue of his reputed commission by Jesus (Matthew 16:18, “And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”) and because they believe he was the first Bishop of Rome. The 1953 discovery of bones belonging to an aged man of Semitic origin, buried underneath the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica, according to legend, the traditional burial spot of the apostle Peter, is presented by Catholics as the most plausible proof that Peter lived in and was martyred in Rome. By Catholic understanding, all later popes reign by virtue of their succession to St. Peter in his office.

    Like

  11. Another argument is the definition of the Pope which is the Successor of St. Peter. Originally, popes were styled “Vicar of Peter,” before this was changed to “Vicar of Christ,” which also seems to suggest that the pontiff is, by definition, a representative or successor of Peter. As by definition Peter could not be a successor to himself, this is used by those disposed towards
rejecting him as a Pope as grounds for his disqualification for that title.

    Like

  12. Yet another argument can be made of St. Peter’s papacy by virtue of him being the first leader of the Christian faith in the city of Rome. This would, by logical definition, make him the de-facto “bishop” of Rome. The Bishop of Rome is known as the “Pope” and therefore St. Peter would have been the first “Pope”.

  13. SoS or 13yoCatholic (whichever you choose to call yourself),

The fact that you deny that Catholic priests sexually molest and rape people proves that you are walking around with blinders on. Even after the Catholic Church has had to pay out millions to the victims, there are still priests running around sexually molesting people hoping they won’t get caught. It’s part of the accepted “culture” of the priests, which is why they resisted coming out immediately to denounce such actions and only did so after the public outcry got so loud that they couldn’t ignore it.

The rock upon which the church is built is Peter’s confession that Christ is the Son of God. It is not built on Peter. This is what is meant in Matthew 16 as evidenced in the original language of the most reliable manuscripts. Peter’s name means “small stone or pebble” while “this rock,” which refers to the belief that Jesus is the Lord, the son of the Living God, is a “huge boulder” on which the true church is built. The stone (boulder), who is Jesus Christ, which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner (Mark 12:10). Only Jesus Christ is the foundation on which the true church is built, in fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies.

Your info is outdated re: Peter’s burial place. It was discovered in the 1950s and confirmed several times over in the 1960s and later that Peter’s bones were found in a burial plot in Jerusalem. This is why the Vatican eventually opened up diplomacy to Israel after decades of denying Israel was a valid nation. They’re trying to get in good with Israel so they can eventually move their headquarters to Jerusalem, where they know Peter was buried.

You can argue left and right, up and down about how correct you believe Catholicism is, but in the end it can’t stand up to the truth that is written in the true word of God–not the false Catholic Bible. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but God’s word will never pass away no matter how many lies you believe and try to promote. You have allowed Satan to blind you spiritually. I hope and pray you see the true light before it’s too late.

  14. And another thing … the only threat perceived by me from the Catholic Church is the way the Vatican, when it suits them, threatens or takes the lives of people who don’t bow down to their evil wishes. As Jesus predicted to his true believers, “yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” That is how the Vatican operates. They think they’re doing God service by killing off certain people who oppose them. This is why they came to be so hated during the French Revolution, during Queen Elizabeth I’s reign and at other times in European history.

The Bible clearly states “For other foundation can no man lay [for the church] than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” [1 Corinthians 3:11] If any church has any other founder or foundation than Jesus Christ, it is a false church.

I’m not for sure but I’m going to say you are a Catholic hating Baptist. They have always had something against Catholics. I have wasted enough of my time on this stupid website. 16. [I’m not for sure but I’m going to say you are a Catholic hating Baptist.]

Wrong again, young man. I have no denominational affiliations. I don’t believe Christ created his church to be divided up into man-made organizations. I don’t consider myself Protestant since they were the ones who broke off from the Roman Catholic Church. When Roman Catholicism was started by Constantine, Christ’s true church was already in existence and continued to exist separate from the Catholic Church because they saw through Constantine’s deceptions. That is the church I was born again into by the blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Calling true non-Catholic believers Protestants, in my opinion, is implying the Roman Catholic Church is legitimate and that these protesters turned their backs on a valid organization.

If Catholics are dedicated to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, why do they bow down in prayer to statues which have eyes but see not and ears which hear not? Why is it that so many Catholics get drunk regularly, especially priests? Jesus and his apostles spoke against being drunkards and urged followers of Christ to be sober. Why are Catholic leaders so obsessed with money that they have often promoted indulgences or money for masses to get people out of purgatory, which doesn’t exist? They even pretend that they are strapped for cash to extort more money from their followers.

My not knowing that you & your friend were 2 different people has no bearing on whether or not I can comment on Catholicism. I don’t hate Catholics, I just hate the lies that are taught in their churches.

I don’t think it was just a coincidence that you happened to read my blog. I hope you weren’t expecting that I would somehow admit I am wrong about Catholicism and you could boast about how you stood up to a “Catholic-hater” and changed his mind. As I said before, I don’t hate Catholics. Maybe your coming here was an opportunity that God was presenting to you to really get to know him apart from the false teachings you’ve learned over the years.

It sounds like you’ve rejected this opportunity, but my prayer is that God will keep presenting you with more and that the Father will draw you to him and to the truths he wants to share with you so you will experience salvation by his grace (his undeserved favor to you which is not based on works like the sacraments).

I saw that you also had a blog about Catholicism and I figured it would be positive towards them but I was wrong obviously. And you are non-denominational? That’s ok I guess. I prefer Catholicism but I don’t mind non-denominational. I have a friend that is non-denominational but he doesn’t spread lies about Catholics. And don’t call me young man. I don’t like that even if I am young. Look, I’ve just had alot of drama in my life recently and I have a few minor anger management issues. I’m sorry that I’ve called you names but I don’t like this blog is the bottom line. I know you don’t think I am old enough to understand but I think I understand enough.

  18. SoS,

I don’t think of your age as being important in what you can or cannot understand about God or religion. Many people accept Jesus Christ before their teen years and understand why they do it and why it’s necessary. The question is not whether you are old enough, but whether you are willing and humble enough to accept the truth in spite of false teachings you’ve been taught in the past.

You claim not to care what I say, but you continue to come back for some reason. I think God is trying to reach you and I pray that is the case. You said you’ve been having some drama in your life and I’ll be praying for you regarding your life challenges.

    May the Lord bless you.

I’ll come right back with facts, not these little lies that you looked up on a website that has no idea what they are talking about. Go to http://www.catholic?????? and look up the real facts. 22. SoS,

Please spare me your patronizing tone. You were already disappointed when you read my post. This is a post that is open for the whole world to see and anyone, including Tasha, can leave comments here if they choose. Furthermore, you don’t know Tasha personally so you don’t know what she knows or doesn’t know.

The information here is not only what I got from reliable websites. I got some of it from books I’ve read that presented reliable facts, unlike the false teachings that you have been brainwashed with over the years.

What you fail to understand is that the Catholic Church is what I would call two-faced. They present themselves as sweet and innocent in public, but behind closed doors the higher ups in your organization have committed and still commit great atrocities to further their lust for world domination.

You can argue all you want, but the lies that you’ve bought into will not become the truth no matter how long or how loud you proclaim your false teachings. Catholicism was corrupt from its very beginning and still is corrupt and will always be corrupt.

As for your website, there’s no need for me to look at it since it’s maintained by Catholics who are deceived and wish to deceive others into believing the teachings of this false church with its false Christianity.

In your other comments, which I chose not to approve, you kept complaining about how you’ve wasted your time coming to this blog. Then why do you keep coming back? If you’re really 13, shouldn’t you be doing homework or playing video games or reading some cool blogs you actually like?

There are plenty of Catholics who have left your church who know what I speak of here is 100% true. And I thank God they’ve seen the true light and have left Catholicism. It would be in your best interest spiritually if you did the same.

  23. And your earlier comment about the words used for brother or sister regarding Jesus’ relatives being his cousins is another lie taught by Catholic leaders. The words and context in the original Greek in Matthew 13:55-56 refer to siblings, not cousins.

Genesis 4:1 says, “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain…” The past tense of the word “know” in this scripture means they were sexually intimate and Cain was the result of this sexual intimacy. Matthew 1:25 uses the Greek synonym of this Hebrew word to tell us Joseph and Mary were having sex. She wasn’t a perpetual virgin like Catholics claim. And we see the results of their sexual intercourse in Matthew 13 where Jesus’ brothers are named and his sisters are mentioned. Jesus’ brothers are mentioned again in the first part of John 7 where they mocked their older brother because they didn’t believe he was the Messiah.

  24. Son of a Soldier,

you are just full of evil and of yourself. You are the typical secular person outside the Body of Christ who fights God and his children all the way no matter what they say. So have your fun fluffing yourself up, Satan laughs with you and our Father God, laughs at you.

“The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.” Psalm 37:13-14

I have done my research on the Catholic Church and walked out of the Catholic Faith due to my findings. I suggest you do your own research ‘by asking God our Father’ if you want to save your soul lest you care less where your soul goes after you die.

Constantine built a Roman Catholic faith upon both paganism and Christianity so that he could worship his pagan idols.

The Roman Catholic faith consistently deceives it’s congregation into praying to a statue perceived to being the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus when it is actually Semiramis holding her husband/son Nimrod, the sun god. Do you not know the history of your own wicked faith.

Your Catholic faith requires you to use vain repetitions. Our Lord tells us specifically, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” Matthew 6:7

Roman Catholics claim they are sacrificing the very body of Jesus over 200 thousand times a day world-wide.

And every year, millions are deceived into celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ’s birthday on December 25th when in fact it is the celebrated birthday of Nimrod, Baal, Moloch, Zeus, Venus what ever the pagan religion wants to call him.

And then further deception by dragging in that old wretched evergreen tree when in fact the purpose began after Nimrod receiving one on his birthday and every birthday thereafter. Soon the son god Nimrod had the pagan Catholic church following in his lead.

It was only Christians who believed by celebrating the pagan religion’s holiday could turn pagans toward Christ but as you can see, it certainly hasn’t work so why in the world does the Body of Christ keep celebrating a day our Father has never mentioned in His Holy Word?

Deception! Your deception, your Father Satan’s deception.

You want to stop being deceived and be apart of the Body of Christ, God almighty, then walk away from that decaying, deadly faith of yours called the Roman Catholic church. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4

Come out of her, where you can worship God, the Father, the only God instead of worshiping Satan and his pagan idols. Destruction and death is on its way and you do not want to be a partaker of her sins!

Satan used the Roman Catholic Institution to persecute and try to wipe out the true believers and the true teachings of Jesus. Satan used a combination of Jewish and pagan religious rites, developed the Roman Catholic Mass, which keeps repeating Jesus’ sacrificed on the cross over and over again. The Lord’s supper has been replaced by a deadly counterfeit.

When you truly worship the Father in spirit and in truth and praise God from within the core of your heart, God’s Holy Spirit tells you truth from deception! Our Father strengthens our minds and hearts to know the difference with the power of His mighty right hand. God’s children cannot be deceived for as our Father told us, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matthew 24:24

Don’t tell me with your unwise mind and untamed tongue what I do and don’t know. I get my truths, facts and information straight from God our Father. What about you! And anytime you want to be enlighten, bring it on! It is right to reprove the young in heart and absent in wisdom.

“For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” John 3:20

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:11

It is okay to be unwise so as long as when you hear wisdom, you come correct and be obedient unto to the Lord our God, the Father of all.

One in the Body of Christ, you can be too!
Go in prayer and ask our Father for understanding lest you be of the devil and love being in darkness.

I’m sure he’s probably doing research in order to prove us wrong, talking to his friends and probably even his priest, ha… and all the while, he’ll be hitting that brick wall, falling over the devils’ stumbling block and missing the very Corner Stone calling out to him, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Course, if he is a child of God, our Father will call him in due time like he does with all his children. And whether he or she is old enough to speak and talk at the grown ups table, then they are able to take in the truth no matter how bad it hurts. Deception is enjoyable to those that are deceived and the truth burns as fire when heard. I’d rather the truth burn now than when our Father comes because his fire they won’t be able to put out.

This is the internet and people pose as other people all of the time to deceive people. I’ve heard plenty of Catholic kids talk about Catholic priests sexually molesting people or tell jokes about it, but have never heard anyone except the church leaders deny that it happens like you have. Maybe you’ve been a hermit with no access to the news media in the past decade.

And I don’t here kids using the term “cooked up” like you did in one of your comments. Also, kids usually call websites like this one “blogs” and don’t call them websites like you do. So, you see, I have deductive reasoning skills.

[You think I’m evil? Yes Tasha, a 13 year old middle school student is going to write comments on a retarded website like this one.]

Tasha’s right. You are evil. Anyone like you who would deny God’s truth and cling to the lies they’ve been taught and hardens their heart against God is evil. If this blog is so retarded then why do you keep wasting your time to come here and make comments? I think it’s partially because you’re fearful. You’re afraid that I could be right and if I’m right you would face the dilemma of accepting that fact and your acceptance of it would mean you would have to re-think the house of cards that you’ve built your life on which would affect everything from your family life to your social life.

[It was started by Peter and he was the first pope.]

Did you know that Peter was married? We are told this in Matthew 8:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:5 says Peter’s wife traveled with him when he would preach. Catholic tradition falsely claims Peter was unmarried.

You’re stuck on the Peter/Constantine argument but your repetitions still don’t make it the truth.

[Catholics don’t pray to a statue]

Devout Catholics have statues in their homes and at church altars which they bow down in front of to pray. Most have statues of their false Mary or statues of the patron saint of this or that which are called icons/idols.

[that is The Blessed Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus, not some stupid pagan sun god.]

If you study ancient cultures like the Egyptians and Babylonians, you’ll find depictions of a woman holding a baby boy. Egyptians called them Isis and Horus. Babylonians called them Semiramis and Nimrod. Nimrod became known as Baal, the sun god. Constantine took his virgin Roman goddess Minerva (known as Athena in ancient Greece) and renamed her the virgin Mary to attract Christians to his false religion. Tasha is correct about the statues.

[You follow him whatever way you want. I don’t give a crap.]

If you don’t care, why do you keep coming back to argue? People who don’t really care don’t bother with leaving comments even once, not to mention more than once like you have.

The more comments you make, the more you reveal how little you really know and how little research you’ve really done.

After all “I’m just a kid that doesn’t do my religious homework” as you would consider me. I admit, I don’t study much. But I believe my way, and you can believe your way. I’m done with this poor excuse for a website. And one last immature remark, You can s#!?* off.

Oh and one more thing. You say this as if, if you were able to call me names it would just crush my little tiny winny heart. Oh the pain, I can just barely stand it. Get for real, will you. I mean please. What’s the old saying, sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt.

And even then, if the devil were to kill me, what’s the old saying, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

By the way Soldier of a Son, I mean Son of a Soldier, thanks for taking me up on you wanting to be enlightened. Wow Son of a soldier. You are really showing your knowledge about true followers of Christ. You actually believe Harry doesn’t have a life outside of his church. How is that possible, when in fact any child of God is individually the Church of God, the Body of Christ. Harry’s social life is God working and speaking to the ignorant and lack of understanding such as yourself.

Now I know my words have a bite. But if you think a child of God can’t out speak a demon then you are even more deceived than I even wanted to believe. Ha.

By the way, we wish not to scare you off. I thought you were the one to say, “I came to this site because I was looking for pictures for a slideshow I was making”

Lastly, is this you? “I don’t need your prayers.”

Spoken like a true demon. Satan never wanted anyone to pray for him because of his pride and fluffed up attitude. Please spare your soul and flee from your wicked self.

  33. Tasha,

Thanks. It’s always nice to have some spiritual backup from a true saint.

    SoS,

I guess by cursing at me you’ve shown your true spirit and the spirit behind Catholicism. I guess now you’ll run to your priest to confess your sin as if that makes your foul language acceptable. How sad. In response to your curse, I pray that God will bless you with the knowledge of his truth.

[The reason I use those terms is because I am more mature than most kids my age. I also have a wider vocabulary.]

That doesn’t explain your calling my blog a website. Young people who have grown up with the present technology call websites like this blogs. It’s a regular part of a young person’s vocabulary.

[And you are calling me evil? That’s a little harsh.]

But you’ve proven you are evil by cursing at me and by resisting God’s truth. You’ve hardened your heart against God and that alone makes you evil. It’s not harsh to call you that–it’s just stating a spiritual fact based on what God’s word says. You are in need of God’s salvation and I hope you eventually are freed from your sins.

You know, I knew it would be a matter of time before he would curse, especially since he gave us all of his previous warnings. And truly, a 13 year old would never think about using the phrase ‘cooked up’. How funny is that. A deceiver within himself coming on this beautiful site acting as two people. What a sad soul. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll find his true home somewhere. It certainly isn’t here at present. Ha.

P.S., I’m sure Son of a Soldier will be back for more because he can’t get enough. And who knows, maybe he’ll come aboard one day and laugh with us. We all have made our fair share of mistakes while growing into the divine Body of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and we have been forgiven!

Son of a Soldier, walk away from what has been deceiving you and march forward into God Almightys’ Army where we live and worship His name only. May our Father God Almighty enrich your spirit with the true blood of the Lamb where you shall think, walk and talk in righteousness and obedience unto our heavenly Father. The one true and Holy God. 35. Very poor scholarship in a number of these articles. So sad to see many Protestants persisting on this ‘anti-christ’ line in reference to the Church. Alot more research required before assuming such things son.

    1. “Very poor scholarship?” Really? That’s just your opinion and I noticed you haven’t provided any proof to show I’m wrong. I’ve quoted directly from the Catholic Catechism that is taught week after week in your church. I have also presented indisputable historical facts. Where are your facts to dispute my facts?

I think it’s obvious that I’m not the one who should do more research. My prayer is that what you’ve read here will be brought to your mind over and over again to the point that you will remove the blinders from your spiritual eyes and will surrender to the Lord Jesus with unfeigned faith. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you with his salvation.

  36. Hi JOEMOEONOKOLIO.

Why don’t you clarify exactly what you mean by poor scholarship on Harry’s part?
I for one would be very interested in hearing it.
I am becoming a serious student of Biblical history myself these days, and by my research, Harry has it correct without error. That is why I keep coming back here.
I respect and admire all the time and effort Harry puts into his historical accounts in these matters, and also know his heart is in the right place. This is a labor of love to Harry. A true love and commitment to Christ, and it shows with the dedication to his witnessing.
I also will pray for you to do the hard research, and face the hard facts about the Catholic “religion” . The truth is the truth. it has nothing to do with being protestant versus anything else. We all are supposed to be servants of Jesus Christ. We all are supposed to follow Gods Holy word if we are believers. There are many churches that will be proven to be false and anti-Christ in the future, and The Roman Catholic church has many dark dark secrets that will come out in the end times. But they are not the only ones. My prayer for you is to find Jesus for real, read his word and follow his statutes to the best of your abilities.
It will not be easy to seek out the truth and perhaps abandon a belief system that you have been given throughout your lifetime, but if you are brave, and honest with yourself after your search, perhaps we can all come together in prayer for this troubled and evil place.

  38. I just don’t hear that condescending tone you speak of, and never
meant it to be so. You gave what I consider an incorrect assertion about the research. Having been witness to many of Harry’s articles, and having followed up with my own studies, I disagree completely with that assertion. And believe me, Christian love was very much involved as far as I was concerned. I was answering as honestly as I could with much love in my heart. I spend a lot of time in prayer for those following false doctrine, including my own Baptist roots. When Christ returns it is asked of us in Luke 18:6 Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on Earth? And I never said you never found, loved, and followed Christ. but I do know now that we are all walking through a land mine of deceit manufactured against us by Satan who will fool the whole world. Historical facts and evidence shows that Constantine blended idolatry and paganism for power and political reasons. So far you haven’t produced evidence to the contrary. The Holy Bible contends we shouldn’t chant, we shouldn’t mutter things over and over, or pray to anyone but God. We shouldn’t light candles for the dead, and we should repent to God himself not a human that we have given power to. I didn’t write that, it isn’t my opinion, it is from Gods word.
My Baptist faith celebrates Christmas day December 25. Christ wasn’t born that day, a pagan idol was. Easter is celebrated mixed with bunnies and eggs more paganism. I struggle with those facts all the time, but they are facts. There isn’t much that hasn’t been twisted and lied about anywhere. We need to listen to the bible and try to live by what it says. Of course there are millions of catholics who love Christ, and follow the doctrine they have been brought up with. Our spiritual walk with Christ does compel us to seek out the truth of biblical wisdom, and when we find it, we are to share it. When we learn of the truth, we are to abide by it. We all have the ability in this flesh to gloss over hard truths, to hold on to traditions we have followed for generations in our families. All the “religions” are marred with scandal and sin all the way to the top. There is a lot of POWER in the Roman Catholic church, untold wealth and corruption, many deaths and other horrific occurrences. These are facts. ” But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receiveth another spirit which ye have not received, or another gospel which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with HIM”. 2 Corinthians 11:4
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works”. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. May God Bless you Joe.

    1. Easter is a pagan holiday indeed. The Christian holiday when christians celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus is Passover. The KJV translators made a grievous error when they translated “pascha” as Easter, they got it right “Passover” 28 other times falling to political/social pressure to put “Easter” into the translation. The really remarkable thing for KJVonly’s, is that at the original writing of the manuscript itself, there wasn’t even such a thing as Easter.

      Like

      1. No, Greg, what’s really remarkable is how you just take the word of people who write what you want to hear and accept it as truth without doing your research. You are so deceived it’s really pathetic and your criticism is a typical attack against God’s word. In Exodus 12 the Passover was to take place from the 1st of the month Abib to the 14th day of that month. Abib was mid-March to mid-April, so from about the 15th of March to about the end of March was Passover season. Then the day after Passover was done, the days of unleavened bread began from the 15th of Abib to the 21st of Abib which is about the end of March through the first week of April.

Herod was a Roman pagan and they celebrated Easter. Easter was the pagan festival of the sun god and was celebrated the first SUNday after the first full moon of the spring equinox. Peter was arrested during the days of unleavened bread and as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the days of unleavened bread ALWAYS came after Passover. So in celebration of his pagan victory over arresting a Christian, he wanted to put Peter to death on Easter, which came AFTER Passover since it was after the first full moon of the spring equinox. The KJV translators were correct. The word “pascha” is defined by the context of where it falls in scripture since Passover and Easter are close to each other. So since the days of unleavened bread meant Passover had passed at the time Peter was arrested, then Easter had to be the translation for the word since Easter falls AFTER Passover.

You just continue to show how you really don’t do your research. You say there wasn’t such a thing as Easter when the New Testament manuscript was written, but Easter has been celebrated dating back to the days after Nimrod died. In the Old Testament it was called the feast of Ashtaroth, or Ishtar, or Ashterah, who was Baal’s wife and was the “queen of heaven”. This false goddess is where we get the English word “Easter” from and the feast was celebrated with orgies of food, alcohol, and sex in the pagan world. It’s so unbelievable how you buy into fables and falsehoods so easily. You truly lack discernment and research skills. Professing yourself to be wise, you continue to show yourself to be a fool.

  39. There are a fair number of problems here, bot in your understanding and in your citation.

    In order of appearance:

The Greek word that 1 Peter uses in 2:8 is lithos, in the context of “stumbling stone(block)” so your hermeneutic of interpretation here isn’t meshing well with the context of the passage or the ACTUAL words in the Greek script contained in all of the manuscripts that have the numbering that puts this section in 2:8.

The Catholic Church holds up Sacred Tradition for a number of reasons, but it is defending by 2 Thess. 2:15, “So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.” Here we are faced with the classic verse against verse, and God’s Word cannot contradict itself…

Very importantly, if you looked at the teachings of the Catholic Church, rather than doing what is called eisogesis (look it up if you don’t know), you would see that we teach that Christ was, as you quote, “sacrificed once and for all” and is not ‘re-sacrificed’ at each Mass, nor does this make it equivalent to the Old Testament sacrifices that must be done over and over. Instead, we teach and believe that each and every Eucharist is a participation in the one cross, death, and then resurrection of Christ since Christ, being God, is not bound by time, He is present at every Eucharist on the cross that one time on Calvary…

Logically, it seems to me, that if you say that Mary is only the mother of Jesus, and not the mother of God, it appears that you are dividing Jesus in a similar way to how early Arianism and Gnosticism and other forms “heresies” refer to Jesus. If you ascribe to these, take no offense, that is why I put heresy in quotes…we as Catholics believe that the Hypostatic Union (God-made-man Jesus) is such that our reason has drawn us to conclude that He took Mary as His mother even though God does not need to have a mother. …

Does the Scripture actually say that Joseph had marital relations with Mary? No, actually, it doesn’t say that anywhere. It DOES say that Joseph “knew her not until…”, but this certainly does not necessitate that as soon as possible afterward Joseph ‘knew’ her. This would be a logical fallacy. …

…when you see or hear “brothers of the Lord” this ought not be taken literally, for even though Greek may have words for cousins, the linguistic background of those involved, i.e. Jesus and the writers of the Gospel, would have used the Herbraism “brothers” out of both habit and because of the audience to which they were addressing.

As for your sources and “secret” teachings, please, I beg you, show me a document that claims this? Making this claim without reference is essentially producing baseless conspiracy theories (which I do not say in a mocking tone, since one of my hobbies is listening to and reading such things. …

I just poured over the Bull Sanctum and found this phrase nowhere in the text. Could you link a copy that presents the phrase within the document?

You have taken the Catechism and its teaching out of context concerning the Sacraments and salvation …the Church teaches that all grace comes into the world through her since she is the direct creation of Christ for this very purpose. She was made through His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and through Pentecost by the transmission of the love of God to the world. This Body, or Bride, of Christ on earth is in actuality the whole of those persons who believe in and follow Christ. This body acts as a conduit of grace to all mankind…
The Catechism says the Sacraments are necessary for believers, so in other words, to be saved, all who believe must participate in the Sacraments (with the minimum requirement being just Baptism of either desire or righteousness…). So if there’s a group of people out there who believe in Jesus and die before they are baptized, the are saved if they chose to follow Him and lived as well as they could. …

And your final points are the classic faith vs. works argument. Well, let me ask you, why must you confess this belief? “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.” James 2:19. Again, what we have here is another misconception of Catholic teaching. Catholics do not believe in ‘working to Heaven’ since we know and teach that salvation is a free gift from God, but for this to work we must not merely have the gift, we must open it and live it as you describe with your phrase “confess”. Am I wrong in saying that confession as you describe it is an action? … Every Protestant I’ve ever heard says that one must confess Jesus as Lord and Savior and believe in his heart what Jesus has done. These things are actions that require the assent and positive movement of the will toward God. This is where the demons have chosen hell, by not responding and confess the Lord as God with their hearts, mouths, and lives.

Here I have given, to the best of my ability and knowledge, a response as good and suiting in size and content as I could. …

I do not write to convert or convince you. If God wills that, then may it be…

    1. David,

I have clear understanding of what Catholicism teaches. Your comment is simply a play on words like a magic trick or smoke and mirrors to try to mask the false teachings of Catholicism.

If we were to accept your error-filled argument that God took Mary as his mother, then was it God himself who died on the cross? Jesus was 100% God and 100% man but it was only his human side that died on the cross just like it was only his human side that had Mary as his mother.

You got it wrong about 1 Peter 2:8. This isn’t surprising since Roman Catholics have their own “Bible” which is based on manuscripts that tampered with the true word of God. The manuscripts (vaticanus & Alexandrian texts) used for the Roman Catholic Bible have been examined and have been shown to reveal the scribes who wrote them erased words and added words, which is forbidden by God in both the Old Testament & New Testament. “Petra” is the proper word and is used to distinguish Peter “petros”, or small stone, from Christ, the “Petra”, or large boulder.

2 Thess. 2:15 is talking about the traditions & doctrines taught by the apostles, all of which are found in the New Testament. It isn’t talking about the extra-biblical stuff conjured up by the Popes to serve themselves and to exalt themselves.

You just flat out lied about the Eucharist. Or maybe your priests have lied to you about it because the idea of the so-called “power” they have given to themselves is ridiculous. The priests of Catholicism do, in fact, believe they have the power to turn the wafer into Christ’s literal body & the wine into Christ’s literal blood when they serve the Eucharist. You should know that leaders of your church (both priests & nuns) are instructed to lie if it serves to further their earthly, self-serving causes. This is one of those times.

Your account of Mary & Joseph not having sexual relations is also a lie. When scripture names Jesus’ “brothers” and “sisters” it was understood by the early church that they weren’t cousins, they were siblings and the context of scripture bears this out. Whenever the word “knew” is used about spouses in scripture, it means they had sex. The Law of First Mention bears this out. The first time this concept came about was in Genesis when it spoke of Adam & Eve’s relationship– “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.” So any thinking person can see from the context that they had sex. That’s what happened between Joseph & Mary when he “knew” her in Matthew.

[the Church teaches that all grace comes into the world through her since she is the direct creation of Christ]

That teaching is wrong and its ungodly. What you’re saying is that Roman Catholicism teaches that God must go through his church in order for his grace to be distributed. That’s diminishing God’s power. God often speaks directly to people in dreams and visions when the church is nowhere around. In Romans 1:4-6 Paul said he received grace from the Son of God himself, not from the Catholic Church or any apostle. Hebrews 4:15-16 says we approach Christ’s throne of grace to receive his grace, not the Pope’s throne or the nearest Catholic parish. In 1 Peter 5:5, Peter tells us it is God, not the Church, that gives grace to the humble. You claim Peter was your 1st Pope, then why do your teachings contradict him?

[Catholics do not believe in ‘working to Heaven’ since we know and teach that salvation is a free gift from God]

This isn’t what Catholicism teaches. You teach that when a person dies, they are sent to purgatory and that they and their living relatives must work them out of purgatory into heaven through the Mass and good deeds and doing penance by giving money or by having a relative join the nunnery or priesthood. You’re just flat out lying.

Here’s what the edited version of the Bull Sanctum says, “Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.”
