UN wants population control

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently stated that it projects Earth will have 7 billion people by October 21, 2011 and 9.3 billion people by 2050. While highlighting the fact that “people are living longer, healthier lives and choosing to have smaller families,” the official statement from the UNFPA goes on to mention that “effective family planning” is needed for millions who don’t have access to it to maintain “[s]mall variations in fertility,” which is code for population control and reduction.

China is the perfect example of the ill effects of population control with its one child policy.  They are facing an increase in the number of elderly people that overburdens their government’s social services as the number of younger people to populate the labor force declines.  Female babies are killed while in the womb or after birth.  Men greatly outnumber women which spawns the human trafficking of girls and young women since men cannot find wives to quell their desires.  It also increases gang activity since young males don’t have a positive social outlet like girlfriends and wives to occupy their time or their raging hormones.  Furthermore, it has caused an increase in homosexual behavior.

God said in Genesis 1:28 that humans should be fruitful and multiply and it’s a commandment he has never rescinded.  We may hear arguments about population growth threatening valuable resources and generating too much carbon that hurts the environment, but this is a lie.  God, who knows the end from the beginning, has always known how many people would populate the Earth in every time period and planned ahead by blessing the Earth with enough resources to last until the end and I’m sure he took into account man’s harmful habits in those plans.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply…

That’s sounds like quality and not quantity.

    • It only sounds like quality for someone who wants to inject their own false doctrines into what the Bible says. When something is fruitful, anyone with a little lick of sense knows that it means it reproduces in a substantial quantity. And anyone familiar with English knows the word multiply means that something increases in number. I guess I wouldn’t expect you to understand since you don’t even believe in the Trinity who makes an appearance in Genesis 1 and you embrace other false doctrines.
